Why Apple Products Over-Priced

Do we Indians have more money – more than the Americans? I do think it is a situation when we compare the cost of apple products in India with the US.

I am not able to understand one thing – that as the apple product is launched all over the world and the last stage of launch is booked for Indian sub-continent – why is this? As we have highest mobile phone subscribers then also – the company is treating us badly.

Lets compare the pricing:
The new iPhone4 priced in US for $199 and $299 but I am sure it will cost more than Rs.50000 in India since their iPhone 3G and 3GS models costs about Rs.35000+.

Take it from iPad pricing also – they are priced in US for about $499 but if you go on ebay and other ecommerce sites for India it is selling for Rs.40000 – do this over-pricing make some sense? Not to me at least.

Taxes
Is it more taxes that one has to pay for the product if they brought from USA or other countries – if it’s the tax thing – then nothing can be done at that level – as the current government is aimed at sucking all the juice.
